Depending on how you use Blurbi, you may provide:

• Account information (e.g., sign-in credentials or tokens from a sign-in method you choose)
• Email address (optional): used only if you enable email delivery of summaries. Email delivery is primarily used with the Chrome extension experience.
• If you do not enable email delivery, you can still use features that deliver content in-app (where available).

B. Information you choose to submit for processing

When you ask Blurbi to summarize content, you may submit:

• Article URL(s) you save
• Extracted article text (only for the specific item you choose to process)
• Optional preferences related to output format (e.g., summary length, audio vs text where applicable)

C. Automatically collected information

We may collect limited technical and usage information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Services, such as:

• Usage metrics (e.g., number of summaries generated, feature usage, subscription/plan entitlement status)
• Diagnostics (e.g., crash logs, error logs, performance data)
• Device/app info (e.g., app version, extension version)

D. Information we do not collect

• We do not track your general browsing history.
• We do not monitor websites you visit.
• We access webpage content only when you explicitly choose to summarize or save a page/item.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide the Services (summarization, audio generation where offered, delivery and playback)
• Maintain accounts and entitlements (e.g., free vs paid usage limits)
• Process subscriptions and prevent fraud/abuse
• Troubleshoot, secure, and improve reliability and performance
• Provide support and service communications

3. How Summarization and Audio Processing Works

To generate summaries (and audio where available), Blurbi may send only the content you submit for processing (for example: the article text or a portion of it, plus basic request metadata like language and output preferences) to AI processing providers.

We do not send your account profile data (such as your email address, payment details, or identity information) to AI providers for summarization. AI providers are used as processors to generate the requested output and return it to Blurbi.

4. Platform-Specific Notes

A. Chrome Extension permissions

The Chrome extension may request permissions such as:

• storage (save preferences/tokens locally)
• activeTab / scripting / context menus (enable "save/summarize" actions on the page you choose)
• host permissions (to display functionality on websites)

B. iOS app permissions

The iOS app may request permissions only when needed for features (for example, notifications or media playback). You can control permissions in iOS Settings. The iOS app may also collect diagnostics (like crash logs) depending on your device settings.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information.

We share information only in these limited cases:

• Service providers (processors) that help operate the Services (e.g., authentication, payments/subscriptions, hosting, email delivery if enabled, analytics/diagnostics, and AI processing). We share only what is necessary for the provider to perform its function.
• Legal / safety: if required to comply with law, protect rights/safety, or prevent abuse.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

Subscriptions may be offered through:

• Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) and/or
• Online payment processing (web/extension)

We do not store full payment card details on our servers. Payment information is handled by payment processors.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes (e.g., compliance, dispute resolution, abuse prevention). We may delete or anonymize data upon account closure or after extended inactivity.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal/operational requirements)
• Disable email delivery (if enabled)
• Cancel subscriptions via the platform where you purchased (e.g., iOS subscriptions managed through Apple)

10. Children's Privacy

Blurbi is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
